Manchester’s China Town
Manchester has many neighbourhoods but hidden right in the heart of the city is the beautiful China town. Manchester’s china town is the second largest in the UK, and the third largest in Europe. Manchester’s China town has a beautiful archway which was donated to Manchester city council, it was made in China between 1986 and 1987, over the years the beautiful archway, which is decorated in dragons and phoenixes, suffered a little wear and tear and needed a restoration. The entire Chinatown community got behind this and did several charity events to raise the funds to restore the archway to its former glory. Even though hundreds of tourists flock to Manchester’s China town it holds an authentic feel as there a few shops selling souvenirs, most businesses in China town are restaurants, supermarkets, and Chinese Physicians. China town has a fantastic car park that throughout the year is also used to host events such as the famous lady boys of Bangkok show, and also the dragon boat festival.
