Manchester’s Vogue Fashion Night Out

Vogue

Forget Paris, New York and London – the Vogue Fashion Night Out will be hitting Manchester on 10 October for one night only!

This glitzy evening of shopping and hobnobbing is sure to be a glamorous event as over 100 shops, eateries and bars have signed up to support the venture and will be open late into the night. As you would expect, retail giants such as Selfridges and Harvey Nichols will be joining the party, but there will also be a ‘bit of culture’ as the city’s galleries and museums have also pledged to stay open late too.

The Vogue fashion night has been held in London for the last 4 years, so the move north may be a surprise to some – but it makes sense considering that Manchester was once the centre of the textiles industry in the UK. Most of the action will centre around Exchange Square and there really will be no expense spared.

There will be an emerald and diamond necklace on display at Mappin and Webb worth £250,000 – with a prize draw to win a (more modestly priced) piece worth £1000, a Prosecco bar at M&S to quench your thirst and a live band at Mulberry so you can dance the night away. Over at Nicky Clarke’s salon there will be a meet and greet with the man himself and on the spot hair styling by Trevor Sorbie at Reiss! If that’s not enough, you can watch the talent of the future as up and coming young designers from the city’s universities showcase their work with a live fashion show.

After all of this excitement you’re sure to work up an appetite at the Vogue Fashion Night!

What’s on at the Vogue fashion night, then?

Don’t miss ‘Vogue Eats’ a unique ‘pop up’ which will take up residence on King Street during the evening. There will be various local vendors serving a variety of foods and many big names too. Those who have confirmed so far are Hotel Chocolat, Hey Little Cupcake and The Fresh Lemonade Company. There will be Mexican food at Margo and Rita’s, Italian delights at Carluccio’s and traditional pizzas at Streatza. If you feel like something more ‘English’, then head over to Cath Kidston – the designer will be celebrating her company’s 20th anniversary with a cocktail tea party and a free tea leaf reading with every purchase.

If you want to indulge yourself at the excellent Vogue fashion night, then Whistles will be offering clutch bag monogramming or sit back and enjoy an exfoliating hand and arm massage at Molton Brown. While you’re at Molton Brown you can also have your photo taken as part of the ‘Wreck My Dress’ mini photo shoot.

Naturally, the Vogue team will also be on hand to offer fashion advice and insider secrets – Editor Alexandra Shulman will kick things off by hosting an opening party at Hugo Boss, while fashion editor Kate Phelan will be in Topshop ready to provide hints and tips on your autumn wardrobe!
