Parklife Festival

Parklife FestivalThis local festival first took place in 2010, having been developed out of the mad Ferret Festival which had taken place in the same place previously. Originally the festival only ran for a single day at Platt Fields but in 2011 it returned as a Parklife Weekender. It turned out to be a massive success and pulled in festival goers from far and wide. It’s the brain child of all the big promoters in and around Manchester and their knowledge combined makes it a real event to attend. If you not totally into Manchester’s music scene it doesn’t matter as there is the cream of the crop from all parts of the UK that attend this festival.

What are you waiting for, join the thousands of revellers travelling into Manchester from all over the UK and further afield. The line ups are hand-picked by the organisers and they intend on turning proceedings into the ultimate party. Everyone that has attended previous Parklife festivals will tell you that it is one hell of a party and that it has the most diverse line ups from Drum and Bass, Dubstep, Tech, House and even the odd boy band thrown in for good measure.

Location

Situated at Heaton Park this site is more than big enough for the event, boasting the largest municipal park in Europe and covering 600 acres. It holds numerous stages of all shapes and sizes and also enough commodities for the thousands that attend each year. This site also boasts an 18-hole golf course, a boating lake, an adventure playground and even a tramway museum, so if you ever get tired of the music there is always somewhere to escape to.

History

The Park has a long and vibrant history being open to the public since 1902. In the early years it was used for numerous open air concerts but more recently it has been visited by Pope John Paul the second in 1982 which was celebrated by over 100,000 people, which gives you another idea as to the true scale of the location. It also hosts other musical events most prestigiously being ones by The Stone Roses and Oasis.

Transport to and from

Worried about travelling to and from the festival, public transport can ne horrendous for an event of such enormity ? Well as a company situated and working inside Manchester we can get you from anywhere within the Fallowfield or Withington area to the gate of this festival, situated just 5 miles of Manchester’s city centre for just £4.50 per person Based on 16 people sharing. Our experienced drivers can then even pick you up again from the festival for the same price at time that suites you for your journey home.

As there is no camping at the site itself we can be very flexible on times and can pick you up in between performances and take you back to your bed for the night ready for you next day’s activities in and around the site.
